Live! Concert Series on the Plaza wrapped up its 19th season at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) ending another summer of live music on Woodrow Wilson Plaza. As one of DC’s longest running free concert series, this unique activation brings some of DC’s most talented musical entertainers to the Live! stage performing a variety of genres including jazz, country, contemporary pop, rock, and more.

This season was another huge success, capturing a wide range of performers and musical flavors including Ms. Kim and Scooby, a popular DMV Go-Go band; Tamika Joy, an R&B singer from Virginia; and a fan favorite every year , Good Shot Judy, a swing band with a very lively performance! Each year, this event continues to capture the attention of a diverse crowd of all ages.

Also back this year, “Play on the Plaza” provided additional entertainment for guests to challenge each other to friendly and competitive games such as giant chess, corn hole, and more while enjoying daily concerts. On Fridays throughout the concert series guests could also take advantage of our weekly farmer's market, Capital Harvest on the Plaza (CHoP) featuring farm-fresh produce, artisanal novelties and local eats.

For the grand finale of the 19th season, Sugar Bear and EU, a dynamic Go-Go band, took the stage with incredible energy, drawing in a massive crowd to close out the concert series. Wilson Plaza came to life from the excitement of the audience, dancing and singing along to every musical number they performed - a fitting end to the 2019 season.

Live! launched in 2000 as part of RRB/ITC’s mission to offer free public programming on Wilson Plaza –a way to help establish a thoroughfare between the National Mall and business district north of Pennsylvania Avenue, creating a stronger community feel in Downtown DC. With plenty of outdoor seating and lunch options, Wilson Plaza is a perfect place for music lovers of all ages to enjoy the diverse sounds of the DMV area.

As we prepare for the 20th anniversary of Live! Concert Series, stay tuned for an exciting season in 2020! For full coverage of some of the performances from this past season, click the video below!
